DALLAS, TX — Filmmaker Rahim Handy and his production banner, Clear Motion Films, are proud to announce a strategic partnership with the cultural development firm #ForTheCulture to amplify the release and impact of his latest documentary, Becoming Taylor. The partnership kicks off as the film celebrates its official selection for the 15th Annual Oak Cliff Film Festival, scheduled for July 30 – August 2, 2026.
Becoming Taylor is a character-driven vérité documentary that explores the intersections of mentorship, identity, and resilience through the lens of boxing discipline. Moving beyond traditional narratives, the film highlights the protagonist's agency and emotional growth, framed by the SuperSeed mentorship model.
"This strategy is not just about playing the festivals," says Rahim Handy, a UNT MFA graduate filmmaker. "It is about how the festivals play for our future slate. Oak Cliff is our proof point, anchoring our move from local credibility into national and international Black film spaces".
By partnering with #ForTheCulture, Clear Motion Films aims to convert festival momentum into a robust digital footprint and lasting community impact. The collaboration focuses on leveraging the "DFW Triple Crown"—Oak Cliff, Denton Black Film Festival, and Thin Line—as a foundation for a national circuit that includes Tier 1 platforms like DOC NYC and the Essence Film Festival.
The roadmap for Becoming Taylor serves as the first chapter in a larger nonfiction slate for Clear Motion Films, which includes the upcoming projects The Space Between Us and the feature documentary Faith in the Fire.
